In today’s save vs splurge post, we’re going to take a look at David Yurman’s signature Cable bracelets! The American jewellery designer has won more than one or two awards for his creative pieces. Honours and awards include ‘Lifetime Achievements’ and ‘Designer of the Year’. Moreover, David Yurman’s twisted helix accessories are worn by many celebrities including Brad Pitt and Charlize Theron.
Although many people enjoy owning one or two David Yurman’s Cable bracelets, they do not come across as the most affordable accessory pieces! The cheapest Cable bracelet can cost you as ‘little’ as $550. Solid gold version with diamonds, on the other hand, can reach the ghastly $13,000!
Luckily, I’ve managed to find some amazing David Yurman bracelet dupes online! They are not only stunning but also come with surprisingly low price tags. Indeed, you can get some of these dupes for less than $20!

Although you won’t be getting your hands on real silver or gold, these David Yurman bracelet dupes come in silver- or gold-plated versions. You can clearly see how similar they are to the designer versions! Crucially, they all feature the twisted helix design with either gold details or gemstones on the ends.
Unfortunately, these cable dupes don’t offer any genuine precious stones or real pearls, but the cubic zirconia imitations mimic the original surprisingly well. If you don’t trust me, just check out the numerous positive reviews under each product.
Personally, I prefer the thinner dupe versions of the cable bracelet. They come across as more elegant and ladylike. I can easily picture myself wearing one with a little black dress on a night out. Otherwise, for a day to day wear, I strongly recommend going for the thicker bangle cuffs. For instance, the David Yurman Classic Cable dupe with gold dome would go nicely with a white shirt and high-waist skinny jeans!
A Brief History of David Yurman
David Yurman is a privately owned American jewellery company, headquartered in New York and founded in the 80s by David and Sybil Yurman. The brand is most famous for its gorgeous but expensive cable bracelets.
Yurman was born in 1942 in Long Island. At 15, he met the Cuban sculptor Ernesto Gonzalez who taught him the welding techniques that David uses in his work today. In the 1960s, David Yurman dropped out of school to pursue a career as a designer. He later apprenticed with several sculptors including Jacques Lipchitz, Theodore Roszak and Edward Meshekoff.
It was also during these years when David started working as the shop foreman for Hans Van de Bovenkamp. It was in this studio where he met Sybil Kleinrock. Little did he know that she would later become his wife and future business partner.
They married in 1979 and founded the David Yurman brand a year later. During the 80s and 90s, he became one of the first jewellery designers to be called a ‘brand’. It was also during these years when the Cable collection was first introduced and became the company’s signature piece. The collection features different twisted helix bracelets adorned with gemstones on their end caps. The cable motif has been awarded two rare design trademarks in the US!
Since then, David Yurman has been creating various collections in silver, gold, and mixed metal designs. He was also the first jewellery designer to set diamonds in silver. David Yurman called this collection Silver Ice and made diamonds more of an everyday luxury. The rest, as they say, is history.
